Back to Search Results Research Firm Brings 'Outside' Perspective to NorVergence Case Monday, March 28, 2005 The editorial staff of the Monitor and monitordaily.com received a PDF file from Rhonda Roland Shearer, director and founder of the Art Science Research Laboratory (ASRL), a New York based non-for-profit organization, which included a 285 page report prepared for the Equipment Leasing Association's Fourth Annual Investor's Conference on Equipment Leasing Finance and Securitization. Miss Shearer was scheduled to speak on: The Role of Leasing Companies in the NorVergence Fraud. The narrative that accompanied the report summarizes Shearer's experience at a recent ELA Investor Conference where she was scheduled to speak and present her findings to about 280 executives that were in attendance. She tells of how she was told upon her arrival that an ELA member company expressed concern over the content of her presentation which, at the last minute, caused her appearance and presentation to be suddenly cancelled. However, despite the last minute banning of the presentation, the report was distributed earlier in the morning of March 10th during registration.
